July 30 is World Day Against Trafficking in Persons 2021.
Children’s Aid Societies and Child and Family Services from across the Province have been meeting with each other in hopes of continuing to grow our knowledge and have consistent practices for all children and youth.
Locally, the Ontario Provincial Police have created a lead position who will assist specific trafficking cases and provide education to community services. For more information, please visit this link. Also, local community agencies have continued to gather in order to provide better understanding and service to the families, children and youth we serve.
There are some amazing changes coming and coordinated efforts between Police, Children’s Aid offices and Indigenous Child Welfare Agencies. Stay tuned for more announcements!
